Program includes employment and employability skills as well as activities/workshops that develop interpersonal and social skills, explore/determine career paths, provide job development and maintenance, and connect to supports within the community.Ĭarefirst Seniors and Community Services Association (Carefirst)ġ2-week program teaches people to provide care to frail seniors and people with special needs.

Training includes: customer service, digital literacy and technology use, health and safety and employment standards sector-specific language, and a volunteer placement.Ĭonstruction Sector Pre-Apprenticeship TrainingĨ-week program will provide a mix of in-class upgrading, hands-on skills, and exposure to multiple trades and will support participants in retaining employment in the form of apprenticeships and long-term careers.Ĥ-week program is for people who face multiple barriers to employment such as involvement with the criminal justice system, long-term unemployment, mental health challenges, or discrimination. Newcomers/ immigrants/ refugees (with a work permit)ġ2-week program prepares people to pass the Basic Ministry Test for Security Guards and apply for a license. Training includes career and employment goal identification, employment plan creation, skills development to enhance computer skills/digital access and use of social media, communication, soft skills and workplace orientation.

Specialized Personal Services (Esthetician/ Hair Stylist, etc.)Īgincourt Community Services Association (ACSA)ġ2-week program is for refugees and vulnerable equity seeking newcomers who wish to become licensed and certified for careers in the esthetics and wellness industries. START Customer Care Careers for All Womenĩ-week program prepares women to obtain employment or pursue additional training in customer service in the financial services, business services or tourism sectors. These online programs include a customized plan for each participant, one-on-one and group counselling or coaching, support to navigate and referrals to local services, as well as opportunities to build peer relationships and networks. If you need support to overcome current challenges such as social isolation, mental health and addictions, homelessness and food security, there are also a range of Life Stabilization Programs available to help you. Program participants receive $250/month for training-related expenses and may also qualify for technology supports and/or transportation funds to participate in online or in-person training.
